I know this is a FNV sub but i think this is an appropriate question to ask. As i write this i struggle to come up with my own answer. Fallout NV has alot more bug issues and freezes a whole lot more than Fallout 3. Fallout NV however has cooler gadgets and cooler scenery, brighter scenery in my opinion. In short, New Vegas is a better RPG, Fallout 3 is a better Fallout. The world and atmosphere of Fallout 3 in unmatched. It's like playing Fallout 1 but on steriods. It has crazy, interesting locations and really good side quests. The world feels really alive, chaotic, hopeless and yet hopeful at the same time. New Vegas plays more like classic Fallout games but that's in part due to what Bethesda did with Fallout 3. There's no denying that both games are amazing RPGs, but when it comes to which one is the better Fallout game, Fallout 3 just barely wins out. New Vegas provides a better narrative and paints a far better picture of life after a nuclear Usually, the first Fallout game you play will be your favourite. As New Vegas is closer to Fallout 1 in style than Fallout 3, you'll probably prefer it. But a lot of people who were introduced to the series with 3 were blown away by the huge sprawling sandbox and excellent free-roaming, and so 1, 2 and New Vegas ended up disappointing them. A little of an exaggeration I think the general census to most people is that FNV is way better that FO3 but both great games check them both out and for $20 bucks for GOTY its pretty cheap. #18. supremewormy Apr 10, 2020 @ 7:28pm. fallout 3's dlcs tbh are better than new vegas's. #19. . I liked 3's environment. This, many will say. But New Vegas is the better game in almost every other respect. And holistically, New Vegas is more interesting and well done than 3. But that's just my opinion. New Vegas still could have been even better had Obsidian been given the appropriate time to fully develop the Legion and polish the game. The exploration is the same, which is great. The world feels waaay more alive than the Mojave wasteland, the DLCs are great, there is a lot of build variety and weapon customization. Fallout 4 has a slightly worse story, but gameplay wise it is better than NV. You should try it. Obsidian was only allowed 18 months to complete Fallout New Vegas though. So it's not "pretty much the same thing". Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas aren't really even on the same level story telling wise. Fallout New Vegas is a Coen Brothers film, while Fallout 3 is like a generic blockbuster Hollywood film you forget about a few weeks later. New Vegas: I love Fallout. I have played all of them, and enjoyed all of them. But the hype New Vegas gets is so undeserving. Yes, its main quest is better than 4s and 76s but it falls short in so many other aspects and the hype it gets is completely uncalled for. The main quest boils down to: Go speak to main faction A Fallout 3 had a superior world design, save for the tunnels. Fuck the tunnels. The Capital Wasteland looked so much better than New Vegas. But that's really the only advantage. The story was worse, the characters were worse, the gameplay was worse. Bethesda are good at world design and that's it. Their writing is always as shallow as a puddle.

is fallout 3 better than new vegas
