The 5DSR is a medium-sized dslr, in its standard form. As far as medium-sized dslr bodies go, it is quite chunky in terms of bulk. The grip and controls can be a little bit of a stretch for those with smaller hands. It shares its dimensions with the 5D Mark 3, at 152.0 x 116.4 x 76.4mm.
It was about $600 to replace them on my 1D Mark IV. That was close to what a used 1D Mark IV costs. Yup, over the years I've had 2 mirror boxes fail and only 1 shutter fail. Canon usually suggest replacing the mirror box, when its due, but unlike the shutter life, I've never seen a published life expectancy for the mirror box.
